Pakistani woman living in Bhatkal for eight years arrested

Daijiworld Media Network - Bhatkal (SP)

Bhatkal, Jun 11: A woman of Pakistani origin living in Bhatkal illegally for the last eight years was taken into custody by the police on Thursday June 10.

The lady in question, identified as Khateeja Javed, was living in Bhatkal without valid documents or authorization. The police, based on reliable information they got, checked the facts after which the incident came to light.

It is gathered that Javeed Mohideen Ruknuddin from Bhatkal had married Khateeja at Dubai. Thereafter, in 2014, Khateeja had visited India on a tourist visa and stayed here for three months before returning.

On her next trip, she entered India through illegal means and had been staying here with her three children for the last eight years. The police found that by providing fake documents, she had secured a voter identity card, ration card and birth certificate here.

The police, who have registered a case under sections 468 and 471 of the Indian Penal Code, are investigating.

If a lady can come into India by whatever means, then why we have to spend so much of money to safeguard our borders, coast guards, immigration, Visa officials etc.....!!!???? Arresting the lady who has been staying in India without legal entry is acceptable. But also those who are responsible for this illegal entry are to be punished and has to be thrown out of their jobs.

Infiltrators use the porous borders, many come on tourist Visas and then vanish into thin air... they melt into the numerous ghettos... Security agencies, have a herculean task in identifying these criminals. Netas provide them fake bonafide documents, by which they acquire ration, Aadhaar, Voters card !! This makes them literally invisible in our society.... We have similar sensitive areas like Mumbra, Govandi n numerous areas in my state !!!!

Dear Rampanna, Udupi, Pakistani textbooks mention non-muslim languages and in brackets mentions (Kafirs). Every year more than a 1000 Hindu and Sikh girls are abducted and forcefully converted and married off to Muslims. Blasphemy law is frequently used to torture non-muslims in that country. This disgraceful country has officially termed India as its sworn enemy and I am sure this Pakistani woman knows it very well. Indian visas for Pakistanis do not allow them to go anywhere else than for the stated purposes at the time of applying as India does not trust them. Last but not least living in India undetected for 8 years in spying parlance is called getting firmly embedded in the enemy territory to be activated anytime for nefarious purposes. Unless proved otherwise, past experience with Pakistan means, this woman belongs to Indian jail. Of all the places, she being found in Bhatkal makes it even more dangerous. Similar case was recently also identified in Bangalore when a Kerala man illegally brought a Pakistani woman and living with her. If the marriage was out of love, or not, is what needs to be determined. Also, Sania Mirza finds it difficult to visit Pakistan as she does not get visa. So they (Sania & Shoaib) make ends meet in Dubai.

A Pakistani marrying an Indian is not a crime. Yes, her method of entry into the country was illegal. But considering the circumstances, I feel an exception can be made to the laws. She is a wife and a mother. For the forgery and illegal entry, a financial penalty can be issued. An exception made in this one case will not lead to any exodus. Do you mean to say that all Pakistani women will come running to India for marriage? I don't think Pakistani men would allow that!! :-)

What amount of financial penalty do you think is appropriate? It's not just illegal entry but then obtaining other documents by fraud. Yes ,on humanitarian grounds one does feel like making exceptions but then how many exceptions do you make.?! Wonder how many illegal immigrants are living in India as Indian Citizens with forged documents. Realise that these illegal immigrants are a burden on India's infrastructure and resources.... employment, subsidies, social welfare schemes reservation etc. ...and they invariably benefit depriving an actual deserving Indian citizen. They also become vote bank and this affects the political discourse and social harmony.

Why are most of the comments about this woman so vile? Has everyone lost sense of humanity and compassion just because she happens to be a Pakistani? The lady did not enter India on a tank or carrying an AK-47 in her bag. She is married to an INDIAN citizen, has kids who are no doubt INDIAN citizens, and has been living in INDIA for several years. Is it a crime to have a natural desire to raise a family? What about the natural right of the kids to be cared by their mother? Is the present case anything more than violation of India’s immigration law? I know many will point out to the illegally obtained ID documents. But that is an obvious course of action when you reside in a country illegally. Many other will question as to why she did not apply for an Indian visa to enter. Do any of you know how hard it is getting a resident visa for Pakistanis in India and vice-versa? Irrespective of this case, why does the word Pakistani generate such hatred in India? Anyone who has worked in the Middle East has certainly few Pakistanis. Just tell me, are the hopes and aspirations of Pakistanis any different from Indians? Is the nation of Pakistan (not the state of Pakistan) really a monster that needs to be slayed?

In India, you could bribe your way into India and do whatever you want. There were dalals during first lockdown openly distributing covid negative certificates for cash. One of the guys who probably did not comply with the money making enterprise and went alone was caught. If she has married an Indian and wants to come to India, the rules must be simple. Citizenship by marriage must be simpler and Indian embassy in those countries should be enabling this after proper paperwork. What was the need to forge your way into an enemy country? It is a different matter and of utmost curiosity with multiple national security questions on how this man from Bhatkal managed to meet a girl from a feudal and ultra conservative society that indulges in blatant atrocities on minorities that represents Pakistan.

There are so many illegal Indians in Saudi/UAE or in general most of the gulf. They go on visit visa and overstay to find a job. If they don't find a job they do not return. It's just in the last 6-8 years in UAE the rules have been very strict and have been able to control with help of UAE ID. Still there are plenty of run away maids, laborer's who are illegals and working illegally. Illegal or migrant issue is not a new one and not limited to one country. USA,UK, Europe..name a country where illegals don't exist. There might be plenty of reasons behind it. Does that mean illegals or migrants have no right in this world? They too are humans just like you and me. They too have a right to live. "India Agrees To Take Back Illegal UK Migrants In Return For 3,000 Worker Visas A Year". It is our solemn duty that Indian nationals who are undocumented, or are in distress abroad and not being given nationality or residence permits, have to be taken back," Chakravorty said. -- May 04th 2021.

Sometimes i think this is just a ploy, to validate her fake indian citizenship. Matter will go to court. She will claim she is truly an Indian. Police will be asked to investigate. Palms may be greased. Police wil submit that they cud not prove her pakistani citizenship. Woila, she officially becomes Indian citizen

Why didn't she apply for Indian citizenship, do you understand the definition of staying illegal in a foreign country, she might be an agent of ISI outfit, to be providing internal data to the enemy country's agency !!! Height of distortion gratification !!! enough of justification of criminal activities !!! NIA acts to be imposed on all those helped her and accommodated her in our country !!!

so what? our country is known for corruption at all levels...during 1993 bomb blasts dawood was aided by the top police officers of mumbai to unload the consignment and transport it to the heart of the city. so who is at fault here? first the country has to come out of the corruption net, which will never happen in this country..no point in blaming others. Now more bangaldeshis and rohingyas are also entering india by just bribing petty amounts to BSF guys at border. All the system is corrupted..no point in saying there are many more..

Deshbhakt, i agree with your comment. First hold responsible of her husband for not obtaining her legal documents and given her legal stay. Without consulting him, she wont come here and settle down. Without spending money by her husband, she cannot make fake documents as she was not working. Husbsnd is responsible for her illegal stay....He should have been taken lead to complete the process of her legal stay at Bhatkal since he married her and he is the local of Bhatkal....

That's not how things work. You can get married no issues but you have to apply for Indian citizenship thru legal means.. Tomorrow I can't marry a American and enter usa without going thru the process. This is not like getting in Malabar bus and entering and exiting kasargod

Of course she or any foreigner can stay provided he/she enters the country legally and completes the stipulated period of total stay in the country. Otherwise face the consequences of law.
