Mangaluru, Jun 10: District in-charge minister, Kota Srinivas Poojary on Thursday, June 10 talked about the possibility of extension of a lockdown in the state. Speaking on the matter the minister said, "Chief minister BS Yediyurappa has reviewed the Covid-19 situation of eight districts in the state. We have urged the chief minister to provide sufficient vaccines to the district. We also explained how our programme 'Vaidyara Nade Halliya Kade' is effectively operating in the state."
He was speaking to the media after holding a virtual meeting with the CM.
We have sought to provide certain relaxations for industries. CM has accepted it. We have also informed the CM of the ways the district administration is handling the Covid-19 situation.
"It is likely that the lockdown will continue for one more week after June 14. However, a decision on this will be taken tomorrow in a meeting with the MP and MLAs of the district. The chief minister has given the district administration the freedom to make a decision on this matter," he said.
"In the meeting, we will think of providing relaxation to industries and daily wagers after June 14," the minister said.
