Bengaluru: Rising prices of vegetables adds agony to woes of public

Daijiworld Media Network – Bengaluru (MS)

Bengaluru, Jun 10: After the increase in tariff for electricity and the ever-rising price of fuel, the people of the state are shattered due to the increase in the cost of the most essential food item like vegetables.

Speaking on the subject, Umesh Mirzi, managing director of HOPCOMS said, “The price of vegetables has increased. This is due to the increase in the price of fuel and the situations created by the coronavirus pandemic. The lockdown prohibits the movement of vehicles in rural areas and thereby lead to the hike in the price of vegetables."

"The price of beans has shot up to Rs 60 to 90 per kilo. Ooty Carrot price ranges between Rs 52 to Rs 62. Only the price of potato and onion as it is grown locally has not gone up. But the onions procured from Nasik saw a price hike as there are restrictions on transportation," he added.

One vegetable trader said that the price rise is inevitable as the shops are allowed to open only during the specified time due to which most of the trucks do not supply vegetables.

Neetu K, a resident of the city says, “During monsoon, it is common for the prices of vegetables to shoot up. However, during the coronavirus pandemic, it is not right to increase the prices. The government has to intervene immediately and control the prices of these essential commodities.”

It is a good time in the political history but a tragic reality in Economic and real life. Politics at its best Blaming 70 years of Nehru and One Family who did nothing but loot the country. There comes a Man about whom even Nostradamus predicted that would RULE INDIA and LIFT INDIA TO GLORY... We all Bhakts believed and still believe at our own peril and with bleak chance of recovery for another 10 years from the depths the country and the economy and foreign relations have been flushed to by the one and only GREAT RULER all believed and hoped would deliver us from the corruption and quiet submission of 70 years. The emergency then was a necessity to get the rich and powerful to be put in their places so that the poor and the powerless could have a say.... exactly the opposite of what the Great Ruler and his motor mouths blabber today as being wrong and bad. The Banks were nationalized and industries and finances were corrected to be controlled by the government which benefitted the people of the country... and now we have the opposite where the banks and institutions are handed over to rich and powerful, farmers harassed, poor people are robbed and precious little that they have is handed over to the few that will take care of the RULER who will soon be ousted should the well meaning and right minded and clear thinking people of the country take a stand to save democracy, help the middle class and the poor. The Rich 20% of the 20% in the country who if they choose to live in the country will anyways not be touched come rain or storm for the policies only favor them as they have the power and the RULER is on their side and who will only propagate and further the policies of the Ruler that benefit them. It is time the common man opened eyes and saw the reality and still not look for signs. It is no time to hate and show each other down BUT hold the rulers rule all with a single yard stick and not be like NERO fiddling when India is Burning. Wake up

If the fuel price goes up the transportation becomes costly and hence the price of all the consumables increase. But out Government is interested in only their own benefit and not of the citizens. Covid 19 and our Governments stupidity/Greed has increased the misery of the people.

U R right Subash. Any one is a Bakht who has voted for this Bartan Jaadu Pocha Government. BPL Voters still say even petrol price reaches Rs. 200/- per litre, our votes are for this party. Look at the blunders one by one committed by this government - mismanagement of covid second phase, price rise, costly fuel, etc etc. We must kick out this government when it finishes it's term?

Neetu K, how the government can reduce the price unless they pay for the traders compensation? They open the shops for few hours, they do not get supply, petrol price is rocket high which is the back bone of supply chain. I can only say in short... Tis is just a trailer the movie yet to start" Shooting started in 2014 and it is going to be a very good movie, Directed by Billa Ranga, Music my Motu Bhai Daadi Bhai, special guest appearance by few Sanyasis and Sadhvis. Dialogues by Fakirji. Produced by Hamare Do and sponsored by Pattu Anjali International Pictures.

69% of the petrol price is tax. The Government earns huge revenue from fuel, but is not willing to cut down despite the hardship faced by people.

@ Mangalurian, Mangaluru, In addition ₹99,122 crore surplus was to the central government for the accounting period of nine months ended 31 March 2021 from RBI. Over and above it claims record GST Collections. Why are projects not getting completed? Why is economy nosediving? Why salary delays to government employs? Where does this money go? God alone knows!. This is like KumbhKarna government. Eat as much as you want and then sleep till elections.
