Mangaluru, Jun 10: Minister for fisheries, ports and inland water transport, S Angara, said that he will hold discussions with the officials at Bengaluru on June 11 and decide the way in which the second relief package announced by the government has to be disbursed to the fishermen.

He was speaking after receiving a petition on behalf of the fishermen during his visit to Kaup constituency BJP office on Wednesday June 9. He said he will meet the chief minister and try to get additional facilities for the fishermen.

On this occasion, MLA Lalaji R Mendon, handed over memorandum on behalf of the fishermen containing several demands including Hejamady port construction, natural disaster and development of fisheries roads.

Office bearers of different fishermen's organizations handed over petitions to the minister demanding fisheries office in Kaup taluk, early execution of Hejamady port work, facilities to even members of fishermen's cooperative societies aged over 60, extension of relief package to even fishermen aged above 60, etc.

On his first visit to Kaup in the capacity of minister, Angara was felicitated. BJP Udupi district president Kuilady Suresh Nayak, BJP National Fishermen's Forum general secretary Yashpal Suvarna, BJP state Mahila Morcha general secretary, Shilpa Suvarna and others were present.
