Udupi, Jun 9: As the Covid-19 cases are gradually declining, there is no necessity of complete lockdown in the future. Let the government restrict religious, social, and political activities for at least three months. Government should allow people to lead their life. Petty shops, hotels, and small vendors should be allowed to do their business said, MLA Raghupathi Bhat speaking to the media.

"If the government continues lockdown after June 14, it will push people into a financial crisis. I request the chief minister to withdraw lockdown after June 14. The government should not extend the lockdown for the district where the positivity rate is below 10-15%. Meanwhile, the Covid cases in the state have dropped from 50,000 to 12,000. People will face a serious problem if the lockdown is extended," he said.

MLA Raghupathi Bhat when asked about the change of chief minister in the state said, "CM Yediyurappa is working round the clock despite his age. He is always available to listen to the needs of people,” he said.

“We have also received orders from high command not to collect signatures that are for or against Yediyurappa. I will not sign on any such paper. You can ask my opinion, but it is not right to collect signatures. The high command can do it if they want,” he added.

“I am unaware of the origins of the demand for change of state chief minister. I do not see the need for a leadership change. Back when Rajnath Singh was the national BJP president he had personally come and asked the opinion of every MLA. This time also, if they feel the need to do the same, the senior leaders in Delhi can do so,” said MLA Bhat at Udupi.
