Mangaluru/Udupi, Jun 7: Dakshina Kannada on Monday, June 7 reported 408 new coronavirus cases. The case positivity rate for the district stands at 15.64%.
As per the district health bulletin, a total of 8,73,626 samples have been tested so far, out of which 7,93,151 have turned out to be negative.
The total number of positive cases in the district has risen to 80,475, out of which 7,266 are currently active.
As many as 676 patients were discharged from hospitals on Monday, taking the total number of recoveries to 72,256.
The district recorded three deaths due to coronavirus on Monday. The death toll in the district so far stands at 953.
So far, the district administration has collected Rs 72,62,117 in fines for 61,770 mask violations.
Udupi
As per the district health bulletin, as many as 2,48,381 samples have been tested for the second wave of coronavirus.
As many as 394 new cases were reported on Monday, taking the total number of cases to 39,068, out of which 4,085 are currently active.
A total of 628 patients were discharged from hospitals on Monday, taking the total number of recoveries to 34,827 for the second wave.
The second wave of coronavirus has claimed 156 lives in the district, including two on Monday.
