Bengaluru, Jun 7: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president, D K Shivakumar has bluntly asked ministers, MLAs and other state BJP leaders to stop playing the games of power when ordinary people dying due to Covid pandemic or resign and go if they cannot run the government.

Speaking to reporters at the KPCC office on Monday, the state Congress chief said, "According to my information, some ministers have been busy visiting 14 to 15 religious Mutts. I have information supplied by my party workers as to which minister has visited which mutt with laptops.’’

"I have verified the information. The heads of Mutts must advise these ministers. I cannot say what kind of advice should be given. It is not my duty. Let them advise the ministers as they deem fit,’’ Shivakumar said.

Referring to the reported statement from the chief minister’s political secretary M P Renukacharya claiming that 65 MLAs have signed a letter extending support to the chief minister. "If he (Renukacharaya) has any self-respect, let him release the list of MLAs. I will react later,’’ he quipped.

Shivakumar said the people have witnessed the spectacle of rural development and panchayat raj minister, K S Eshwarappa directly writing to governor Vajubhai Vala alleging interference in his department and another minister going to Mutts as also the sex CD scandal. Everybody knows the kind of statements issued by different leaders and how they have retracted. "These people are playing with the lives of the people. Instead of protecting the people, they are distributing ashes of corpses,’’ he said.

The state Congress chief said the state administrative machinery has collapsed. The legislators are fighting openly and ministers are squabbling. One minister says global tenders for vaccines and health minister feigns ignorance. To make things worse, officials are indulging in catfights.

"We don’t want to interfere in the infighting of ruling party leaders. But let the government attend to the problems of the people and solve the Covid mess created by them through their failure,’’ he said.

The KPCC chief earlier held a meeting of all leaders of the party’s frontal organisations on the Covid situation and the activities of the party. KPCC working president, Saleem Ahmed, former minister Priyank Kharge, media cell president, B L Shankar, V R Sudarshan, V S Ugrappa and other leaders participated in the review meeting.

BJP leaders are Paid Public Servants. Our tax money is for thier salaries, perks, housing, food, expenses and luxury items. If any one wants service from them by right he has to pay through the nose. It’s BJP principle from Pradhan Sevak to Janata Sevak.
