Accused Pranesh Yadiyal
Uday Ganiga had breathed his last when being taken to hospital by an ambulance. Yadiyal's anger against Ganga reportedly was triggered by certain comments passed by Ganiga in his social media posts. Uday Ganiga reportedly had brought into the open several incidents of injustices and irregularities happening in the gram panchayat and that because of this Pranesh Yadiyal had nurtured personal animosity against Ganiga.
Pranesh Yadiyal was in the residence of a member of Ulloor gram panchayat. The police who got the information late night on Saturday, went there and arrested him.
A case regarding the murder has already been registered in Shankaranarayana police station.

Kundapur, Jun 6: A man died after being hit by a car late here on Saturday June 5. The car was allegedly being driven by president of Yadamoge gram panchayat Pranesh Yadiyal, and it is further alleged that it may be a case of suspected 'murder'.
The deceased has been identified as Uday Ganiga (45) from Yadamoge.
The incident had happened at around 8 pm in front of the residence of Uday Ganiga.
Ganiga was standing on the road on Saturday June 5 evening when Pranesh Yadiyal's car allegedly knocked him down. After causing the accident, the panchayat president fled from the spot, leaving behind his car at the spot, it is alleged.
The people summoned the 108 ambulance service. Uday Ganiga breathed his last when being taken to hosplital by the ambulance.
Uday Ganiga had uploaded a status about the lockdown in the gram panchayat two days back. He had advised those in charge of the situation not to exult after providing facility to the villagers and then fencing the village. He had also urged those in positions of power to deal with the problems faced by the coronavirus-infected families and keep the publicity on the backburner for the present. He also had asked them not to misuse the funds received from the government.
Pranesh Yadiyal has now been accused of killing Ganiga in an act of murder.
K Srikanth, deputy superintendent of police here, said that this was a case arising out of friction between Yadiyal and Ganiga. During the spot inspection, prima facie, it appeared that it was not an accident but a planned murder, he said, adding that case would be registered under section 302 (murder). Uday's family too has suspected this to be a case of murder and the same would be probed on the basis of their comlplaint, he said.
