Puttur, Jun 5: District in-charge minister Kota Srinivas Poojary said that a team from center will arrive in the state to assess the damage caused by natural calamities including the recent Tauktae cyclone and submit a comprehensive report to the state government.
Speaking to the scribes, minister Poojary said, “A proposal for Rs 80 crore compensation is already submitted through the district administration. In addition, a proposal for additional Rs 125 crore relief will be submitted to provide compensation for the village-wise losses incurred by the public. After the survey complete picture of the losses incurred in the state will be available.
“An appeal is sent to the chief minister (CM) to provide vaccination to staff of cooperative associations, members of gram panchayats, town panchayats, city municipality, who are working as corona warriors. CM B S Yediyurappa is going to take an order to this effect in the next two days.
“Lock down is inevitable in order to break the chain of coronavirus. Our expectation is to achieve zero cases. The opposition parties should not play politics in this matter and cooperate with the ruling BJP government.
“Not only guest lecturers but outsourced employees, drivers etc who are employed in various private organizations are in difficulty as they have lost jobs. I am confident that the CM will announce one more package, keeping in mind the well-being of these people,” he said.
