Bengaluru, Jun 5: Top brass of BJP, who have realized that the stature of BJP is going down in Karnataka due to the internal rivalry between the government and state BJP, have decided to form a coordination committee to put an end to the nagging problem.
The central leaders of BJP have instructed to form a coordination committee of 10 people including state BJP president Nalin Kumar Kateel and chief minister B S Yediyurappa and take necessary measures to bring back the stature of the party in the state. The top BJP leaders had a meeting in this regard with Nalin Kumar Kateel, deputy chief minister Ashwathnarayana, ministers R Ashok, Aravind Limbavali and chief secretaries of the party Arun Kumar and Ravi Kumar.
It is learnt that the national leaders of the party have instructed the state team to discuss the issues with the respective BJP members who are embarrassing the party by giving anti-party statements separately and sort out the chaos. They have also instructed the 10 member team to meet often and take corrective action on the recent developments in state politics.
Reliable sources have said that the responsibility of convincing the BJP MLAs, who are washing the dirty linen of party in public, is given to state BJP president Nalin Kumar Kateel.
The top brasses of the party have come out with this suggestion as the state BJP president Nalin Kumar Kateel had appraised the national president of BJP about the recent anti-party statements given by MLA Basanagowda Patil Yatnal and minister C P Yogeshwar and the subsequent verbal attack on these two by the other MLAs of the party including M P Renukacharya.
It is also said that the state BJP leaders will not have discussion with Vijayapura MLA Basanagowda Patil Yatnal. They have decided that the central leaders themselves discuss the issues with Yatnal and resolve the same.
Revenue minister R Ashok said, “Plan is drawn to take necessary actions to speak personally with all the ministers and improve coordination. In addition, effort will be made to improve the stature of the party in the state. The coordination committee will have meeting every month.”
