Mangaluru, Jun 4: Police commissioner N Shashi Kumar released a documentary titled ‘Covid - Journey of a Cop’, featuring assistant reserve sub inspector (ARSI) Arun Alva here on Friday June 4. The documentary is directed by Raahul Vasishta and presented by Mangaluru city police.
Shashi Kumar said, “Since lockdown was imposed last year, cops are working day and night enforcing the guidelines. During the first wave, 330 cops were tested positive with one death, and in the second wave, 88 of them tested positive and one death was reported. The five-minute documentary featuring ARSI Arun Alva and directed by Raahul Vasishta will create awareness among cops to take precautionary measures to tackle Covid. The documentary is the real experience of ARSI Arun Alva who tested positive and came back strongly.
“The documentary is dedicated to all Covid warriors who have worked relentlessly during the pandemic. The documentary is in Kannada language with English subtitles,” he said.
ARSI Arun, who has completed 19 years of service said, “The shooting of the documentary began two weeks ago as the director aimed to motivate the Covid warriors through this short video. Raahul approached the police commissioner who then permitted to make this documentary. I was tested positive two weeks ago. This documentary will definitely motivate the Covid warriors.”
Director of the documentary, Raahul, is a young budding talent who has worked on various music and film videos. He was the editor of Tulu movie ‘Golmaal’ and also worked in Tulu movies like ‘2 Ekre’, ‘Girgit’, ‘Gamjaal’ and ‘Kudkana Madime’.
