Kadaba, Jun 3: Harish, a policeman attached to Kadaba police station, has earned the goodwill of the villagers by successfully completing the repair of a road on Tuesday June 2. In undertaking this work, he took into confidence panchayat members of the area, elders and villagers.
Kadaba police station head constable, Harish, by his act, showed that the police personnel can become people friendly and work for the good of the villages. Harish, a beat police of Koila village in the taluk, proved that the police who enforce law with canes in hand also can turn friendly for the society.
Some roads in Valakadama area of Koila village had been thoroughly damaged. Slush which got accumulated in the potholes worked as a deterrent for the movement of vehicles. Harish, noticing the problems created by the bad condition of the road, took elderly people of the village and others into confidence as far as undertaking road repairs is concerned, and successfully completed the task on Tuesday.
The road at Baramelu-Valakadama, Valakadama government higher primary school, Beejattalike on milk society road, Kerekody etc were in a very bad state. On Tuesday, the people came together under the leadership of Harish, worked from morning to evening, it cleared the slush and repaired the road by levelling it.
Koila gram panchayat president Chandrashekhar Gowda Mala, former president Sheenappa 'Gowda Valakadama, former member Vinodhara Mala etc supported the beat policeman.
Sand extractors Chandrahasa Gowda Parangaje, Aziz and Latif B A provided sand or the repair work. Another sand extractor, Suresh, provided transport vehicles free of cost.
When he was a beet police at Puttur in the past, Harish had undertaken people-friendly initiatives like street lights, drains, road repair etc. He had become popular with higher authorities and the people.
People of Koila are happy about Harish's services. APMC former director Sheenappa Gowda Valadakadama, Koila gram panchayat member Chkandrashekhar Gowda Mala, former member Vinodhara Gowda Mala and others participated.
