Karkala, Jun 3: The district child protection unit rescued and rehabilitated four children who were with their hapless father within the limits of the rural police station here. The children had lost their mother sometime back.
The father along with his three male and a female children were found in a helpless state at Madanadu within the limits of Nitte gram panchayat. Social worker Ramitha Shailendra, had called the district child protection unit, pleading to rescue the children and their listless father. The unit immediately took measures to rescue the children who are devoid of their mother. A team visited the house of the family that is in shambles. The department, which saw for itself the bad condition of the four children and their father who are ill, rehabilitated the children without delay.
District child protection officer Kumar Naik, legal surveillance officer Prabhakar Achar, protection officer Mahesh Devadiga, Karkala child development project officer Umesh, Karkala rural police station sub-inspector Tejasvi, members, Praveen Kotian, Atmanand Poojary as well as social workers, Ramitha Shailendra and Harshavardhan Nitte took part in the operation.
The children were rehabilitated as per the instruction of Ronald Furtado, president of the child welfare committee.
