Mangaluru: Four arrested for posting derogatory messages on Durga Vahini, VHP leader

Mangaluru, Jun 2: Police arrested four people for allegedly posting derogatory messages against Durga Vahini and Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader Sharan Pumpwell on social media. Durga Vahini is the women's wing of the VHP. 

The four were taken into custody on Tuesday June 1.

The arrested are Bhavani Shankar (32) from Sullia, Naushad (27) from Bajal, Ravi alias Tikki Ravi from Kavoor, and Jaya Kumar (33) from Moodbidri.

The operation to arrest the accused was conducted under the guidance of police commissioner N Shashi Kumar, DCP (Law and Order) Hariramshankar, ACP Mangaluru central, Mangaluru east police station inspector and staff.
