Mangaluru: Police arrest two accused in doctor attack case

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (DV)

Mangaluru, Jun 2: Police arrested two people in connection to the incident where the doctor of a private hospital was attacked.

The arrested are Shamsheer Ali (43) from Marnemikatte and Sarfraj alias Chappu (27) from 8th block Chokkabettu.

It may be recalled, on May 21, Dr Jayaprakash had attended to his rounds in the hospital and was about to leave when a crowd of about 20 to 25 persons, used filthy language against him. It was said that the doctor was held by his collar, jostled around and he was obstructed from performing his duties. A case relating to the incident had been filed in Kadri police station then.

Police have booked the accused for preventing the doctor from discharging his duty and violating the Covid-19 guidelines issued by the state government.

The accused were produced before the court.

Doctor may be right or wrong , if someone support the assault they did on doctors it is a shameful thing.. For justice you can go to court & there is law to ask for justice.. There are so many people died in last two years due to covid , did you see anyone going and hitting or assaulting any doctor ? If all those families did the same things then what would have become in this society & to our healthcare system? Doctors would not have come to hospital at all.. Remember that if you are a shopkeeper , you struggle to manage 3-4 customer at a time.. Then with several hundred patients and different conditions and no time to spend for his own needs... What will be the condition of that doctor.. Isn't he a human being ??

So a bunch of jobless people come and attack doctors who have been working tirelessly for the past year and a half putting themselves and thier families at risk and this is the recognition they get? We dont have to toot horns and clap hands and light lamps to acknowledge their sacrifice. We have to stand behind them firmly in times like these . Do these jobless morons have any idea about the kind of psychological trauma doctors have to work through day in and day out. What if this incident affects the treatment of their next patient . Will the mob that attacked be held responsible. If they are heavily fined for all damages caused physical and physiological, hopefully they and the others who think like them will learn their lesson. And for persons who think goons saved patients life, if these people have any shame left in them, next time they have a health emergency, let them please get treated by these hooligans and spare the doctors thier unneeded patronage.

Very shameful n ungrateful of patient and her relatives!.. breaking Covid protocols n crowding n jeopardising public safety and also morally injuring the medical fraternity ... because of their foolish deeds tomorrow the public will suffer as doctors will be risk averse n hesitate to save lives in risky situations!... biting the hand that strives to heal and shooting the messenger are utmost foolhardy acts .. amidst a pandemic!

Good action! No matter wat the problem, doctors must not be assaulted. If there is a dispute they shud approach consumer court. But As per previous article and complaint, group was led by one named Asif.... How come now some different people are displayed. Where is the mastermind?

Cynthia Dkatte, not only doctors but on noone .Other people too are individuells who require certainly respect.Even health officers who discharge duty to humanity should require extra respect.such attack on others doesnt bring any good respect to self.you are in bad light then.Comes mostly from home.Educated people dont do this.we are not in a fight arena.Second by attacking doctors does the dead person come back suppose he is no more there?why this hatred?Emotions are there for every one.

Its very easy to comment on the news without knowing the fact. Actually doctors refused to take the patients to deliver which would lead to death of a mother and baby. If you ppl cal wat doctors did as humanity then what des guys did to help for the survival of patient (mother) and baby has survived because of these guys so i think these guys have done a great job. Doctor like murli and jayaprakash had done a blunder by refusing the patients just because the patient tested covid positive

Imran, this patient might have needed ventilator care after delivery which was not available anywhere till almost midnight, so no one could admit her anywhere, the moment a ventilator bed was available in Wenlock Dr. Jayaprakash accompanied the patient to Lady Goschen hospital, her delivery was safely done and she was shifted to Wenlock for ICU care as she had severe respiratory illness due to Covid, you should be thankful to all doctors who have been involved in the care of this patient who had defied her primary doctor, s advice to test for Covid and stayed home till symptoms worsened. How irresponsible to tell that these goons saved the patient, have some sense!

The biggest transfer of wealth from middle class to hospitals and doctors has happened during this Covid19 times. I have heard cases where people had to spend lacs for a few weeks of hospital stay for Covid19. Doctors should not be greedy and understand that people are taking this money out from their hard-earned savings. If doctors dont give up their greed they would end up getting bashed.

There is a need for new stringent laws in the country to curb crime. Police will arrest the accused people, courts will release these accused within minutes thereby the efforts of catching the culprits bear no result, no punishment.

Dr Jayaprakash had attended to his rounds in the hospital and was about to leave and then how he was obstructed from performing his duties. he was leaving means he was off duty. we know what's going in hospitals now a days. they can loot but you cant question democracy is in heights with BJPEEE. Questioning also becomes assault depending upon community.
