Mangaluru, Jun 2: Seven accused were arrested regarding the incident where a gang reportedly came armed with lethal weapons, tried to kill a woman and vandalised her house.
The arrested are Ranjith (28) from Kodical, Avinash (23) and Dhanush (19) from Urwa Store, Prajwal (24) from Kottara, Deekshith (21) from Kodi Bengre, Hemanth (19) from Bantwal and Yathiraj (23) from Kunjathbail.
Among the arrested, Ranjith and Avinash are listed as rowdy-sheeters and have 10 and two cases against them respectively. Prajwal and Deekshith have two and three cases respectively registered against their names at various police stations.
Police revealed that Hemanth was troubling a 20-year-old girl. When he was questioned about the same, he along with his friends who are rowdy-sheeters, barged into the house of the girl’s mother and attacked her with sharp weapons. They also damaged property.

Mangaluru, Jun 2: In an incident which happened at Shaktinagar here on the night of Sunday May 30, a gang reportedly came armed with lethal weapons, tried to kill a woman and vandalised her house. Shaktinagar falls under Kankanady police station limits.
Hemanth from Sairpalla, Ranjith from Kodical, Sushal from Kunjathbail, Yatiraj from Kavoor, Avinash from Kottara Kalbavi, Dhanush from Urwa Store Sunkadakatte, Prajwal from Kottara Chowki, Deekshit from the dock here, and Deepak from Urwa Store are said to have come to the woman's residence armed with sabres, rods, axes and other weapons.

They illegally entered the premises of the woman at night without permission and swung their sabres in a menacing manner. They damaged a television set, mixer, sofa and backdoor of the house, it is said.
It is said, the daughter of the complainant was seen pillion-riding on Hemanth’s motorbike. Her brothers called Hemanth to question him. Hemanth got angry and thereafter Hemanth and Ranjith brought their friends in an attempt to murder her, the woman stated.
