Kundapur, Aug 23: Shimoga MP, B Y Raghavendra, who visited Gangolli in the taluk to inspect the fishing jetty construction there, expressed his consternation at the poor execution of the work, in no uncertain terms. In a meeting of officials of various departments at the Travellers Bungalow in Byndoor on Saturday August 21, he upbraided the officials, advising them not to try to justify their actions by putting forward lame excuses. “Show efficiency in what you do, work in a transparent manner,” he told them.
At the said progress review meeting, he noted that over Rs 150 crore had already flowed into Byndoor assembly constituency towards development works. He felt that more funds will come in, if the officials work with diligence and concern for the welfare of the people. He advised the officials to work sincerely for the execution of Kodery port development project, drinking water project in Byndoor, brake water construction work in Gangolli, Byndore-Shimoga state highway development etc. He also promised to put in efforts to build an airport at Ottinene near Byndoor, construction of road from Byndoor to Sagar through Ganganadu and Karni, and setting up of a fire brigade in Byndoor.
Byndoor MLA, K Lakshminarayana, local BJP block president Y Pranaykumar Shetty, party leader, Krishnaprasad Adyantaya, Byndoor Railway Commuters Association working president, K Venkatesh Kini etc., were present.
