Bengaluru, Jun 1: Karnataka on Tuesday, June 1 registered 14,304 new coronavirus cases, a sharp decline from nearly 50,000 single-day cases that the state had been recording a few days ago.

As per the bulletin released by the state health department, the active cases in the state stand at 2,98,299. Bengaluru Urban's single-day tally has come down to 3,418 new cases.

As many as 464 deaths due to coronavirus were reported in the state on Tuesday, with Bengaluru Urban alone recording 276 deaths and Ballari 14. With this, the toll so far has risen to 29,554.

The state recorded 29,271 discharges from hospitals, taking the total discharges so far to 22,90,861.

So far, Karnataka has seen 26,18,735 positive cases since the start of the pandemic in March 2020.

The positivity rate for the day stands at 12.30%, while the case fatality rate for the day is 3.24%.

As many as 1,38,46,247 people have received vaccination so far.
