Shobakka playing to her constituency is fine. But 4-laning should be prioritized as per the traffic. Imagine through and through 4-lane between Bangalore - Mangalore, Mangalore-Mysore...it would make wonders in terms of fuel savings. Will directly lead to more car sales and most importantly, will help businesses due to reduced travel time to Bangalore and consequently Chennai as well. Please do something about 4-laning Gundya - BC Road stretch. Sakhleshpura section will be taken care off by Hassan, but not sure, when the DK stretch will be completed.

Whatever the plans may be, they should also plan for the green cover lost. For example, few old trees which were on both sides are cut down for this projects. These trees have generations altogether. No replacements for these. Same may happen in the ecologically sensitive western ghats (through Agumbe). If they don't care nature, then the damage is irrerversible. I am wondering why places beyond Parkala which are mainly ruaral areas need to have a highway. Instead a properly maintained and decent wide enough road will cater the need of people. Spending crores of rupees with heavy damage to the green cover and environment doesn't make any sense. It is just for the politician to make a claim that they have attempted/tried to get a highway in their constituency. If you carefully observe the geography and the need of people plus the environment, then a project like this shouldn't have planned. Since connectivity to manipal is becoming congested, they should have improved connectivity (in terms decent widening of roads) till Hiriadka. Beyond that it is waste of money and I would say natural disaster is a "Kattitta Butti".

369 crore will be huge amount for this project. Concerned authorities, ministers and officials must plan proper plans in order to have better roads. Specially additional lane near the U-turn. Also drivers must be trained properly by the roads and transport authorities. 90%, drivers doesn't know how to drive.
