Mangaluru/Udupi, May 31: The meteorological department has announced yellow alert in coastal Karnataka from June 1 as there is indication of the monsoon entering the Kerala coast on that day. The department said that the coast might get good rainfall beginning Tuesday June 1.
Many parts of Dakshina Kannada district received good rain on Sunday May 30. Cloudy weather prevailed throughout the day.
On Sunday, maximum temperature of 30.4 degree Celsius was recorded while the minimum stood at 22.6 degree Celsius. The city and surrounding areas had cloudy and sunny atmosphere with some rain in between. But rural areas adjacent to the city got good rainfall on Sunday.

Navoor of Beltangady received 58 mm of rain, highest in the district. Arasinamakki, Shishila, Ujire also received good rain. Kadaba, Bantwal, Puttur and Moodbidri taluks also received copious amounts of rain. In Sullia taluk only drizzling was noticed in some parts. Mangaluru city and outskirts had cloudy weather and sunshine alternately. During the day the rain was intermittent while there was some rain on the night of Sunday.
In Udupi district many parts received good rains on the late night of Saturday as well as on Sunday. Brahmavar, Karkala and Udupi taluks received heavy rains.
