Kaup: Panic causing leopard trapped by forest department officials

Kaup, May 31: A leopard that was causing panic among the people at Kuralu residential area, Padoor of Majuru gram panchayat, and surrounding villages, finally fell into the trap laid by the forest department officials here on Sunday May 30 midnight.

The forest department officials who received information on the sighting of a leopard near the residence of Kural Renni, placed a cage to trap the leopard. The animal which entered the cage in search of food was trapped.

The operation to trap the leopard was held under the guidance of assistant forest officer Clifford Lobo, and involved deputy range forest officers Jeevan Das Shetty and Gururaj K, forest guards Guruprasad, Abhilash HD and Parushuram Methi.
