Panaji: Youth arrested for rape of six year old

Panaji, May 31: The Quepem police arrested a 21-year-old resident on Sunday, May 30, for allegedly raping a six-year-old girl.

The incident occurred on Friday and the accused was reportedly known to the survivor. The youth was arrested under section 376 (rape) of the Indian Penal Code, section 8 of the Goa Children's Act and section 4 of the Protection of Children against Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

The accused was produced before the local court which remanded him in three-day police custody.
