Beltangady: Woman, three-year-old son die of electric shock

Beltangady, May 30: In a tragic incident, a mother and her young child died of electric shock at Patrame here on Sunday May 30.

The deceased have been identified as Geeta (30), wife of Harish Gowda, a resident of Kodandoor, and their son Bhavish (3).

The incident happened when Geeta along with her son went to the pumpshed to switch on the pump to collect water to feed the cows.

Geeta's husband Harish was not at home when the tragedy took place, it is learnt.

Dharmasthala police have registered a case.

    Very sad and tragic too.Here is not clearly details given.Am sure she had done before too.How come on that day this tragic happened.?Husband was not at home,who found them etc.Hope it was not any one involved in this .May their souls rest in peace.Heartfelt sympathies to the family.Innocent boy was too young .The lady too.

    RIP! These type of Tragedies can been avoided, if earthing connection is maintained properly. A simple ELCB (EARTH LEAKAGE CIRCUIT BREAKER) installed at Main distribution board will prevent any grounding issues.

    RIP Geeta and Bhavish. Safety precautions are a must but since covid all maintenance work has come to halt resulting in tragedies even to the scale of industrial. Even KEB lineman have dissappeared.
