Mangaluru: Former parish priest of Bajal Fr Remy Aranha passes away at 75

Mangaluru, May 30: Fr Remegius C M Aranha, St Zuze Vaz Home, Jeppu, passed away on Sunday May 30 morning. He was 75.

Fr Remy Aranha, as he was fondly known, was ordained on May 11,1973.

After his ordination, he served the diocese as assistant parish priest in Puttur, parochial administrator at Vorkady for five months, and as parish priest of Ukkinadka, Katipalla, Basrur, Mogarnad, Kanajar, Barkur, Pezar, and Bajal, between the period 1975 to 2018.

He retired in 2019 and was since living at St Zuze Vaz Home.

The funeral rites will take place on Monday May 31 at 10 am at Priests' Cemetery, Valencia Church.

    Sad to know that fr Remy is no more.May his soul rest in peace.He was a good priest making available to the service and was doing it with zeal and sincerity.He was available for confessional ministry here in Mangalore and was spending lot of time as a confessor.We miss him.The people who used to go to him for direction feel the loss. May he enjoy the eternal bliss promised to the faithful servants.
