Udupi: Need to follow lockdown rules to break chain of Covid infection - DC Jagadeesha

Daijiworld Media Network – Udupi (HB)

Udupi, May 29: “The positivity rate of Covid19 has reduced from 38% to 19% in the district. Now there is no shortage of ventilators, ICU beds and even oxygen beds. Earlier, there was a requirement of 800 oxygen cylinders and yesterday 390 oxygen cylinders were used,” said deputy commissioner (DC) G Jagadeesha.

In a video on Saturday May 29, he said, “There is a week more of lockdown. With the support of the citizens of Udupi and due to strict rules, the infection is under control.

“We should bring the positivity rate to below 10% before June 7 as per the advice of the government. Only then, we will be able to avoid the extension of lockdown.

“Yesterday, I noticed many people on streets. Many had come out unnecessarily. This shows negligent attitude. If people continue the same attitude, we will take stern action against them.

“The health department was testing 2,500 samples every day previously which is now increased to 3,500 samples,” he said.

The DC urged the public to cooperate for the next one week, which is a very prominent period. “Let us not go out of our houses unless there is any emergency purpose,” he said.

Dear Mr. Jagadeesha DC suddenly you do not break lockdown please grant more 2-4 hrs to the public to purchase daily needs. like fruit, vegetables and other necessary things. In this way you can control covid infections with the cooperation of the public by WEARING masks and maintain a safe distance.

Instead of yelling at public first shout at all those political servants roaming on street for various occasions...next day their name with photos appear on local news paper for some kind of inauguration they went. Why you people always target common people ? target politicians first then there is no covid...this second was result of political rallies & religious gatherings you should have stopped it right before they started to organize.
