Udupi, Aug 21: The Government Nursery School at Hoode was the Government’s initiative to nourish the tender minds of Tonse here. But the nursery lacked the facilities required by this generation; which
failed to attract the parents of these tender minds to send their kids t this nursery.
It was the Baikady family of Tonse which supported the government to establish the nursery by donating the land. Continuing the ancestral egacy of social work, B M Zaffer of Baikadi family has initiated to
provide all the required basic facility to the government nursery, ecently so that the parents of Tonse and its surroundings can make he best use of the nursery to build a firm foundation for their kids to cope up and continue their bright future with confidence in this competitive world.
A function was held at the ongoing dream project of B M. Zaffer’s Tonse Health Centre. B M Zaffer donated the compound wall, interlock for the floor, a flag pole and the electricity facility in the loving
memory of his beloved brother late Baikadi Mohammed Munawar.
Acknowledging the donation, teacher Shakuntala was grateful to the Baikadi family for their continuous to run the nursery to its best since its establishment.
The chief guest of the function, Veronica Carnelio, the president of District Mahila Congress, appreciated the selfless works of Baikadi family towards society. The zilla panchayat member Janardan Tonse
presided. In his talk he expressed the importance of education and health in the society.
The function also marked the felicitation of well known veterans by late Baikadi Hassan Saheb Memorable Charitable Trust(R) Padu Tonse, Hoode.
On being felicitated Ramappa Master, the retired teacher of Hindu Higher Primary School, Kemannu expressing his happiness told the gathering how his profession which he once started just to meet his
basic necessity has now proven to be the profession of high standard for him as he looks at his students at their best position in the society in every corner of the world.
Mohammed Hussain, the retired head master of Urdu Higher Primary School, Tonse fondly known as Bappu Master after being felicitated said that it was emotional being felicitated by Haji Baikadi Ismail
Saheb, under whom the master once started his career four decades ago.
On being honoured Ramachandra, the former ZP member and local lawyer recalled his presidential regime in Kemannu Panchayat and also closeness with Baikadi family and people of Tonse. Kunder, the former
president of Tonse panchayat expressed his gratitude for the support he got from all during his period of presidentship, while Dr Shivakumar Heramath, the ENT specialist, Udupi, who served as a doctor for more than 20 years in Tonse was grateful to the people for their trust on him.
The president of Khadeem Jamia Masjid, T M Rahmatulla and Sunder, the former president of Kemmannu Panchayat were also present on the stage.
The master of ceremony was Dr Mohammed Rafik, the chied executive officer of Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara - Nature Cure Hospital, Parika and medical director proposed the vote of thanks.
