Kasargod, May 28: The town police have arrested three people for transporting 240 kg of ganja in a tourist bus on Friday, May 28.

The arrested have been identified as Moidin Kunhi (28) of Periadka, Mohammed Rahis (23) native of Chengala-Menangod and Mohammed Hanif (41) from Berka-Cherakala.

The police raided the house where one of the accused, Mohammed Hanif was residing as a tenant and confiscated a pistol, machete and other deadly weapons. The residences of other accused were also searched by the police.

The police team under the leadership of DySP PP Sadanandan on definite information stopped the tourist bus near Chettungal, Vidyanagar and found the drugs after conducting a thorough search of the vehicle. The accused had hidden the substance in the luggage space of the bus. The vehicle is said to have been coming from Andhra Pradesh.

The police stated that Rahis's father owns the tourist bus. “The bus that was being operated after obtaining a special pass from the RTO amid lockdown was being used to transport drugs,” one of the police officials said.

Both the bus and the drugs were seized by the police.

I am truly petrified, at the daily criminal activities in Karnataka n across our nation... Lockdown was an excuse to further diversify their demonic illegal business.... These arrests are just the tip of an iceberg... The real volumes of drugs, narcotics, gold counterfeit currency smuggling, must truly be mindboggling !!! The use of weapons, firearms, is definitely very disturbing ....They will now play a " Victim Card" declaring that all Indians are suffering from Islamophobia !!!!

Problem is not with criminals but the society that generates for these criminals...... 1. Not enough opportunities for jobs........2. Who's buying their product. Why there is no awareness in the society about addiction...........if there is love jihad, blame yourselves for your failure to educate within familiy.
