Davanagere, May 28: "We learn that minister C P Yogeshwar, is seeking a portfolio where he can loot. We will not become mute spectators if he resorts to blackmailing tactics to achieve his objective," warned MLA and political secretary to the chief minister, M P Renukacharya.
He said that the minister is not justified in indulging in politics instead of providing protection to the people. "Because of people like him, the party gets a bad name. I can confirm that he did not meet any of the national leaders of the party at New Delhi. He would have gone up to the gates of their residences and got himself photographed," he ridiculed.

Renukacharya demanded for the ouster of Yogeshwar from the ministry, adding that he has a letter demanding the minister's ouster signed by 65 legislators. "Yogeshwar who came from another party into the BJP, became an MLA with the blessings of Yediyurappa. During the period when Sadananda Gowda was the chief minister, being the forest minister, he plundered the state's wealth. He then left the party and later returned again to the BJP. He had fallen at the feet of Vijayendra at a flat in Shivananda Circle Bengaluru, pleading to make him a minister. I was a witness to what he did. I also saw him prostrating before Yediyurappa at Kaveri Bhavan," he explained.
Chairman of food corporation, A S Patil Nadahalli, said that Yediyurappa is the indisputable leader of the party and that he will be the chief minister till the 2023 election. Mudigere MLA M P Kumaraswamy, said that the BJP does not have any star leader other than the chief minister Yediyurappa.
