Chikkamagaluru, May 27: In an incident which happened at Lakkavalli Cross in Tarikere in the district on Wednesday May 26, a corona warrior lost his life after fighting for life on the road for half an hour after an unidentified vehicle hit his motorbike. The public have been bitterly critical of the senselessness on the part of BJP MLA Suresh, who reached the spot early but did not use the presence of mind to help the dying man.
The corona warrior who died in the accident was Ramesh, a health inspector by profession. He was returning after duty hours on Wednesday when an unidentified vehicle knocked him down, injuring him critically before speeding away.
At that time, MLA Suresh's car reached the spot. Even though a call was made for the ambulance service, it did not arrive for 30 minutes. In the meanwhile, Ramesh was lying in a pool of blood and was fighting for life but the MLA remained seated inside his car that was stopped nearby, without making an effort to save the life of the dying corona warrior.
The ambulance finally arrived. Ramesh was taken in the ambulance to Shivamogga but he lost his life before reaching the hospital at Shivamogga. The people said that if the legislator had shown the presence of mind and humane concern, the man's life perhaps could have been saved as a hospital is located just two minutes away from the accident spot. Due to the negligence of the legislator, a corona warrior's life was lost.
