Mangaluru, May 26: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) district president Sudarshan Moodbidri said, “The district's Covid-19 recovery rate has gone up to 85.29%. The district administration, including political representatives, medical staff, and police are rendering outstanding service to contain the spread of the deadly infection in the district.”
Speaking in a press meet held at Atal Seva Kendra here on Wednesday May 26, he said, "Congress in the opposition is misleading the public by holding press meets regarding the Covid situation in the state. The true colour of Congress has been exposed in the country. The party has tried to defame the country and Prime Minister Narendra Modi globally, but they were exposed.”
He also said that the Congress has sold its existence in West Bengal in the recent elections.
Taking a dig at Congress MLA U T Khader, he further said, "Sea erosion which took place in Ullal is not created by the present government. Khader failed to provide a permanent solution for the sea erosion issue when the Congress government was in power in the state and he was a minister. For several years including the time of MLA U T Fareed, sea erosion has been an issue. But, now Khader is blaming the BJP government."
Speaking on the attack on a panchayat development officer in Mallur and on a doctor by a mob, he said, "Youths attacked a PDO and a doctor in the city. The religious leaders of the community and their leaders should focus on this, so that such incidents never occur in future."
Sudarshan informed that MP Nalin Kumar Kateel's Covid war room in the second wave of the pandemic has received 8,150 phone calls seeking help which include 481 calls for ambulance service and 512 calls seeking help for hospitals. As many as 1,035 medicinal kits were distributed among senior citizens. Nearly, 138 Covid patients were cremated under the guidance of corporator Ganesh Kulal. Voluntary organisation Sevanjali is distributing food among 4,000 destitute across the city, he said.
Speaking on chief minister B S Yediyurappa's special package to the working class, Sudarshan said, "The state government has sanctioned a compensation of Rs 82,20,000 for farmers, labourers, unorganised labourers, fruits and flower growers.”
