Kushalnagar: In emotional letter, young girl pleads for return of deceased mom's missing phone

Daijiworld Media Network - Madikeri (DV)

Kushalnagar, May 23: A little girl who lost her mother to Covid has writen an open letter to the Kodagu deputy commissioner, the MLA, and the staff of the district Covid-19 hospital urging them to find and return her mother's mobile phone which went missing after her death.

In her open letter, Hrithiksha of Kushalnagar stated that her mother had been admitted to the district Covid hospital after she contracted the infection. But she succumbed to the disease a week ago. Her mobile phone has been missing since then.

In the letter, the girl wrote, "My father, my mother and I tested positive for Covid-19. As the health condition of my mother deteriorated, she was admitted to the Covid hospital. My father and I were under home quarantine and were not able to come out of the house.

"My father is a daily wage worker. We were able to survive these days with the help of neighbours. My mother passed away on May 16.

"Someone has taken my mother's mobile phone which was with her. I have lost my mother and become an orphan. I have several memories of my mother on that phone. So, whoever has taken the phone or found it, I request them to return it to this orphan," she pleaded.

Really sad. We can imagine how fond she must have been of her mother....the phone is everything which can help her at least come in terms of her mother's loss. Wish she gets back the phone. God bless her and take care of her.

If an individual is a child, s/he is termed an orphan if deprived by death of either one or both parents. This little girl has lost her mother and hence is an orphan. I too used to think that the term applied only to children who had lost both parents till I read the definition in the dictionary. I was quite surprised, but enlightened. But yes, you are right, it is usually used to refer to children who are deprived of both. But the emotional and physical loss of a mother is exquisitely painful to a child. So I think that the term would well apply to a motherless child.

Truly painful and unbearable to see the kid, asking a basic memory of her mother which is stolen, using the families crisis as an opportunity. Hope that she gets it back and we pray for it.

Its human nature to be selfish. Some steal phones from the dead, some increase the rates of emergency medicines, some hoard medicines, some increase the rates of firewood required for cremation, some blame the government on daily basis to earn some political mileage etc. etc...

Some people for grabbing power say that they will get back stashed money from Swiss Bank within 50 days, but thereafter keep quiet, Some demonetise currencies promising to reduce black money and in case failed, promise to stand trial in the court of people but after 50 days vanish abroad, Some preach to be strict against black money, but promote electoral bonds for party funding, Some preach accountability but amass crores of rupees in a fund with no accounting, Some keep blaming 70 years of misrule of their predecessors but unashamedly take the wealth built over 70 years by Central Bank, Some unashamedly without mask conduct election campaigns throughout the country but pose before the media with beautiful mask, Some self-proclaim their courage by quoting their chest size, but does not have the courage to face one press meet extempore, Some sit with empty cylinders when their opponents increase petrol prices and when they come into power does not mind skyrocketing it, Some send aid / vaccines to foreign countries to build up their own image, even when their motherland is suffering, Some ask pharma companies to sell same vaccines at different rates to Centre & States, Some discuss spacious Parliament Annex when country is ravaged by Covid, Some keep quiet while dead bodies are dumped into Ganga and that too after flowing crores of rupees in the name of Namami Gange, Some talk about taking country to space age & improving scientific temperament, but does not restrict own flock speaking garbages such as Gomutra / Gobar, Some promise "Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas", but only a very few (Ambani, Adani, Modis, Choksi...) are benefitted, Some take votes in the name of Ram promising Ram Rajya and then bring the country down to a situation wherein everyone is forced to chant ‘Ram Naam Satya Hai’, and at last when they understand that people started realising their true colours, they unashamedly shed crocodile tears on Prime Time, Agree Shankar, it is human nature to be selfish

People should be ashamed to steal even a finger nail from someone. Why would you steal something from a dead body? Do we all lost basic humanity?? The person who stole the phone will have the curse forever and Karma will follow him/her and steals all the peace from their life. If you can not help someone, please do not harm. Is this difficult rule to follow?? Shame on us, irrespective of religion. Hope an Angel will come to the help of this girl soon.
