Mangaluru/Udupi, May 22: The deputy commissioners (DC) of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts have informed that the ration stores or PDS (Public Distribution System) shop owners should open their shops at 7 am and distribute the ration to the public during lock down period.
In a publication, the DCs said, “If there is crowding, the shop owner should issue slip or tokens. Even after 10 am, people who are standing in queue should not be sent back without distributing the ration meant for them. Social distancing needs to be maintained. The ration store owner should make arrangement of hand sanitizer as well as drinking water. As Aadhar card and OTP is provided, the store owners should not get confused and pressurize the ration card holders for bio metric authentication.
