Karkala, May 21: The mortal remains of Shirlalu Hadiangadi Anand Shervegar (63) was found on the verandah of the house, where he used to reside alone, on the late night of May 19. It is suspected that he is murdered.
The deceased, Anand, had sold his four acres of land to Ganesh Rao, who is employed in Bengaluru and two other persons. He was separated from his wife and children also. He had taken permission from the buyers of his land to build a small house at a distance of 100 meters from his ancestral house on the land and used to live in it alone.
Harish, his sister-in-laws son, used to come to the house of Anand daily for household work. Both had the habit of consuming liquor. The day on which Anand died, Harish had been out after completing his work but returned late in the night. It is suspected that some scuffle must have ensued between the two in an inebriated state, which must have resulted in the death of Anand.
A case in this regard is registered at Ajekar police station.
