Bengaluru, May 21: The state health department has taken out an order in which it has asked concerned officials to identify frontline workers and priority groups in the age group of 18 to 44 and vaccinate them against coronavirus.
The campaign to vaccinate people in the age group of 18 to 44 was stopped as there was shortage of vaccine. According to the decision taken in the experts committee meeting held on May 15 frontline workers and people belonging to priority group in this age group can be vaccinated. A district level nodal officer has to be nominated for this purpose. The nodal officer should identify priority zone, providing certificate, and identifying vaccination center and take total responsibility of vaccination. These instructions are given by the health department in its order.

The frontline workers include differently-abled people and their caretakers, prisoners, personnel working in crematorium and cemetery, close relatives of health workers, teachers who are deputed on coronavirus related work, government transport personnel, auto and cab drivers, electricity and water supply department personnel, postal workers, street vendors, security and housekeeping personnel of offices, judicial officials, elderly people and care takers of sick people, department of women and children, personnel working petrol bunks, cooking gas supply and suppliers of material to hospitals, personnel working in medical companies, destitute, people living in home for the elderly and APMC workers.
The priority group includes, construction workers, telecom and internet service providers, bank personnel, lawyers, movie industry workers, hotel personnel, KMF personnel, garment workers, Railway department personnel, sportsmen and sportswomen representing state and country, personnel of GAIL and HAL.
