Bengaluru, May 20: District In-charge minister Kota Srinivas Poojary, Fisheries, and Port minister S Angara, and MLAs Sanjeeva Matandoor and Rajesh Naik met chief minister (CM) B S Yediyurappa and submitted a memorandum to sanction Rs 100 crore for Dakshina Kannada (DK) under State Disaster Response Fund on Thursday May 20.
They also submitted a memorandum urging the Chief Minister to sanction Rs 100 crore under Natural Disaster Management, as several PWD roads worth Rs 48 crore, panchayat raj roads worth Rs 18 crore, fisheries roads Rs 30 crore and roads worth Rs 30 crore have been washed away in the cyclone affected rain.
To contain the spread of Covid-19 in the district, they also urged to appoint 40 additional Arogya Mitra personnel in the district, permit RT-PCR test in Puttur and Sullia taluks at KVG College, and issue order to implement Ayushman Bharat at Sullia KVG medical college. As there is a shortage of oxygen in the district, they requested to provide a tanker of oxygen to the district, supply vaccine doses of Covaxin and Covishield from 50,000 to 1 lac and also permit to provide salaries for the practicing MBBS doctors and nurses.
Further, they also urged the CM to provide Covid-19 vaccines for gram panchayat and other local bodies’ staffs and representatives by identifying them as corona warriors.
