KSRTC rolls out hi-tech bus with intensive care unit, oxygen

Bengaluru, May 20 (IANS): The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) on Wednesday rolled out a hi-tech bus with an intensive care unit and oxygen to treat Covid patients on wheels.

"The bus is equipped with 5 oxygenated beds, a ventilator, patient monitor system to check blood pressure, ECG and temperature of Covid patients," said Deputy Chief Minister Laxman Savadi, who also holds the transport portfolio.

The ambulance bus was built in-house by the corporation at Rs 10 lakh.

The state-run transport corporation is already operating a dozen buses to provide oxygen on wheels to Covid patients across the state.

"The 12 buses with oxygen supply are operated in Belagavi, Chitradurga, Chikkaballapur, Chikkmagaluru and Kalaburgi districts," Savadi said, adding the corporation has been directed to provide oxygen buses to all the 31 districts.

"A Hyderabad-based volunteer has offered to provide medical equipment to the oxygen buses for treating Covid patients," he said.

One side good idea for patients who dont get beds in hospital ,relief for the present to be treated.Other side the beds are so nearer to the other hardly any place for move, and some distance should have kept. When one patients situation gets bad ,next one will get panic that she /he too will be next one like.Breathing the same air within bus ,?and no chance for fresh air?or air circulation is there ?Hope they dont infect the rest .Is it free of cost?or must pay for oxygen or medicine?

Both state and central Govt are elected by thumbing majority. They can take whatever steps that they feel necessary. It may be wastage of money. 2% don't have right to question the decision of 80%.

Since there is shortage of beds, government has taken this decision. Everything is waste of money for you. Initially you all were against vaccination and now why vaccine is not given is your slogan. If government does something for betterment then it is waste of money. Please wake up and use your senses than spreading negativity and following false propaganda.
