Brahmavar, May 19: MLA Raghupati Bhat stressed upon increasing testing in villages and locate Covid patients in the process.
He was addressing a task force meeting in Brahmavar on Wednesday May 19. He said, “Meet local private doctors and convince them to inform us about patients coming to them with symptoms of fever and cold. They have to compulsorily undergo Covid19 test. The report should be confirmed to the Covid care center. And those who are in home isolation should shift themselves to hospitals if their oxygen saturation level decreases below 94.
“There is no shortage of ICU and oxygen beds for the treatment of Covid-infected people in Udupi hospitals. People should not listen to any misinformation. Treatment of Covid infection is completely free under Ayushmann Bharat scheme. In addition, the facility of Covid care center is completely free and will be staffed 24 hours a day to monitor the patients’ health,” he said adding that work should be done to make people aware of all the facilities.
He further said, “Task force members should visit those home isolation patients and check the saturation level on a daily basis. According to medical experts, those patients will be immediately hospitalized if their saturation level is below 94. Negligence will wporsen the situation. Therefore, the Legislator's Regional Development Fund of Rs 10 lac has been allocated for the purchase of pulse oximeters.”
