Kundapur, May 17: “The 108 vehicle that was at Siddapur primary health centre should be put to the use it is meant for. The MP and the MLA should help provide a new vehicle for the hospital. If politicians do not put the effort in helping people, the latter will lose faith in their leaders,” said former Byndoor MLA K Gopala Poojary.
Speaking to reporters on Monday, he said that the service at Siddapur hospital is good, but using 108 for Covid patients causes problems for other patients. "I have visited all the primary health centres during the pandemic. I have spoken to PHC and local leaders about providing a vehicle for vaccinating people above 45 years. All the primary health centres including Shankaranarayana, Kavradi, Kandloor, Hallihole etc. are providing excellent service. I have requested the government through cooperative societies to provide the necessary help. Installation of solar panels to Hallihole health centre through Kamalashile temple and Rotary organization is commendable,” he said.
“Primary health centres, the doctors, nurses, staff and ASHA workers working in these centres are doing noble work. However, ASHA workers are not being paid adequately. I will speak to the concerned officials about it,” he said.
“The doctors at Covid clinics should undergo mandatory Covid tests. They should be examined for corona if they have Covid symptoms. Nothing can be done if the situation goes out of hand. Everybody should be alert,” he requested.
