Kundapur, May 17: In a tragic incident, a 68-year-old man who was riding his bike passed away after he got strangled by an electric cable.
The deceased has been identified as Alagadde, Yarukone resident Shekhar Shetty.
The accident occurred at Heroor-Arehole road in Byndoor. The cables that had snapped due to the storm were being repaired. However, the electrical contractor assigned with this task did not put up any signboards signalling danger to commuters.
Following this, one of the cables snapped and ended up strangling and killing Shekar Shetty who was riding his bike along that way.
A case in this connection has been registered at the Byndoor police station.
