May 15: DK reports record 1,787 new corona cases, 1,146 in Udupi; 10 deaths in twin districts

Mangaluru/Udupi, May 15: The district of Dakshina Kannada (DK), on Saturday, reported its single day highest 1,787 positive cases. The total positive cases reported so far are 63,357.

The bulletin from the health department stated that on Saturday as many as 1,490 patients have been discharged from the hospital. The total number of patients discharged from hospitals are 49,355.

A total of 8,01,768 samples have been tested of which 7,38,411 are negative. The district has 13,194 active cases.

The total death toll has risen to 808, including three on Friday.

The officials have collected Rs 56,96,030 in fines so far for 54,537 mask violations. 

Udupi

As per the health bulletin, Udupi has reported 1,146 positive cases on Saturday. The total number of infected patients is 45,985.

As of Saturday, 1,496 patients have discharged from the hospital. The total number of patients discharged are 38,466.

The total active cases 7,259 in the district. The total death toll due to Covid-19 in the district is 260, including seven on Friday.

    Oh Lord, 1787 cases. ! Within 2 days doubled. So the question arises ones mind why this curfew and lockdown. Is it necessary if trend goes on like this?

    May 13th - 812 cases. May 14th - 1215 cases. May 15th - 1787 cases. Jumping by 500 cases approx.
