Active coronavirus cases in Karnataka cross 6-lac mark, 349 deaths in a day

Bengaluru, May 15: Karnataka on Saturday, May 15 recorded 41,664 new coronavirus cases.

As per the bulletin released by the state health department, the active cases in the state rose to 6,05,494.

As many as 349 deaths due to coronavirus were reported on Saturday. The total death toll so far has risen to 21,434.

On the other hand, Bengaluru Urban recorded 13,402 new cases and 94 deaths on Saturday. Eight districts recorded over a thousand cases while two crossed the 2,000-mark.

On Saturday, 34,425 were discharged from the hospitals, taking the total discharges to 15,44,982.

So far, Karnataka has seen 21,71,931 positive cases since the start of the pandemic in March 2020.

The positivity rate for the day stands at 35.20%, while the case fatality rate for the day is 0.83%

As many as 1,11,49,833 people have received vaccination so far.
