Mangaluru, May 13: Taking on the opposition for criticising the union and state government over the Covid-19 crisis, BJP state unit president and MP Nalin Kumar Kateel said that this is not the situation to play politics, instead, increase confidence among the people in the state and boost the confidence of the people to take precautionary health measures to contain the spread of the deadly virus.

He was speaking to media persons at the circuit house on Friday, May 14.

He said, “The help centre set up to face the second wave of Covid-19 by Dakshina Kannada BJP along with other service-oriented organisation has received 2,000 phone calls. The helpline provided 100 ambulance service and 70 people were admitted to the hospital. As many as 433 medical kits were distributed, ICU and ventilator services were arranged for 42 patients and 34 Covid-19 victims were given a decent burial.

“As many as 1,15,662 persons have received the first dose of vaccination, and 39,548 people have received the second dose in the district (above 60 years). As many as 1,14,287 have received the first dose of vaccination and 12,419, the second dose of vaccination (45-59 years). A total of 1,802 people have received the first dose of vaccination (from 18-44 years).

"People who criticized BJP's vaccination programme are claiming they have not been vaccinated. However, as per data 19 crore people have been inoculated.

“The district has received 30 ventilators under PM-Cares Fund, 24 ventilators from donors, and 32 ventilators from the state government. The ventilators have been increased from 12 to 86. From the MP-LAD fund, Rs 2.5 crore has been sanctioned to the district administration. I have requested the chief minister to allot 100 ventilators, of which, already 40 ventilators have been sanctioned.

“The Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL) will establish a 93-litre oxygen production unit in Wenlock, Mangalore Chemicals and Fertilizers Limited (MCF) will establish 80-litre oxygen production unit in ESI and Bantwal taluk hospitals, GAIL and GAIL Gas will set up an oxygen production unit in Puttur and Beltangady taluk, KIDCL will set up oxygen production units in Uppinangady and Moodbidri. Infosys has come forward to set up a crematorium in Ullal. SEZ has come forward to provide free ambulance service in the district,” he said.

Nalin also said that when the government announced vaccination for below 45 years, the opposition criticised and led to unnecessary confusion among people, thus misleading the public. "This is not the time for politics. Instead of politicising the situation, the opposition should cooperate to tackle the situation," he said.

This is the time for BJP ministers to apologise and take the blame for not preventing the second Corona wave. Instead Central ministers have gone into hiding while State BJP ministers feel hitting back at Oppostion will cheer up their vote bank. BJP needs to apologise for the last seven years, take responsibility and some may even have to resign on their own instead of being kicked out.

What MP Nalin spoke is the result of the need to 'spread positivity' among people as per instruction from 'papa' and father organisation 'RSS'. The public understands your every move even before you make it. Stop fooling people. The amount of time you spend to spread your propaganda instead if utilized correctly could have saved so many lives.

Lack of educational proficiency, self oriented egoist person must have felt that he can fool people all the times and the ones who voted him. He won peoples heart by talking about Hinduism and Hindustan. One Deedi is enough to challenge him and answer him in coming years. How long he can continue criticizing rest of fellow Indians and opposition party rule.

For a moment let us keep the political parties aside..... Every common man irrespective of Caste, Creed, Colour, Gender, political affiliation is suffering and they are voicing their genuine concerns..... But the Government and Andh Bhakths; instead of trying to understand their concerns, are dismissing them as voices of Opposition..... There is no second thought for anyone that Government was in deep slumber and Nerondra Modi was fiddling in Bengal, Kerala & TN when the country was burning..... Even people like Anupam Kher who has shown allegiance to BJP started voicing their views.... Simple thing is that; from the day this Government has come to power, they just do not listen to people's concern and try to stifle their voices, thinking that every time they will be able to retain power using majoritarian appeasement..... Time is ticking for you and your party.....

The Government has failed totally in curbing the spread of the virus. Now we also get half burnt bodies floating in river Ganges in Uttar Pradesh. Above 45 only 12,419 have received the second dose in DK what about the others. Now there is no stock of vaccine in Government hospitals this is the state of affairs. Our PM now is not visiting any foreign countries due to the virus. PM visiting states only if there are elections to show is popularity, now the popularity rating is all fallen. The people are finally woken to teach the ruling party a good lesson.
