Mangaluru, May 13: Dakshina Kannada deputy commissioner has issued revised order for the weekend curfew in a press release dated May 13.

The district administration stated that there would not be complete lockdown in the district during the weekends and rather would follow the same restrictions as applicable on the weekdays till May 24.

Purchase of essential items will be available in the district from 6 am to 9 am on Saturdays and Sundays as well.

Earlier, in order to contain the surge in Covid cases, authorities had announced a complete lockdown on weekends.  However, now this particular order has been revised.

The district on Thursday recorded 812 fresh coronavirus cases and five deaths. While the state recorded 35,297 new cases and 344 new deaths in one day. In their recent government even announced the postponement of the SSLC exams amid the growing concern over the increase in the number of coronavirus infections.
