Karnataka records 39,998 fresh coronavirus cases, 517 deaths in a day

Bengaluru, May 12: Karnataka on Wednesday, May 12 recorded another sharp rise in the number of coronavirus cases, adding 39,998 cases to its tally.

As per the bulletin released by the state health department, the active cases in the state rose to 5,92,182. Bengaluru Urban alone accounted for 16,286 cases in a single day.

As many as 517 deaths due to coronavirus were reported on Wednesday, with Bengaluru Urban recording 275 deaths and Ballari 17. With this, the toll so far has risen to 20,368.

The state recorded 34,752 discharges from hospitals, taking the total discharges so far to 14,40,621.

So far, Karnataka has seen 20,53,191 positive cases since the start of the pandemic in March 2020.

The positivity rate for the day stands at 29.67%, while the case fatality rate for the day is 1.29%.

As many as 1,08,82,080 people have received vaccination so far.

    I dont know what kind of impact on public by everyday score card in covid. But it will be helpful to feel better if you mention how many cured got well a d went home rather than quoting deaths.. pls bring a feeling of get well soon..

    So many deaths because we Indians not voted for health & education. We voted for Mandir & got it.
