Udupi, May 12: The Janata curfew has paralyzed the lives of the people in Udupi. In the meanwhile, a Russian citizen has been selling epics Mahabharata and Ramayana at the car street in a unique manner.
This man moves around the car street and areas around the eight Maths in the city on his bicycle. He wears a monkey mask. Having shaved his head clean, he rides his bicycle duly wearing a monkey mask made of leather. He also has been selling the books to the people and businessmen at the car street. At the same time, he also creates awareness among them about coronavirus infection.
The man, who is associated with the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (Iskcon), is known as Satyaprakash. He has been selling books on religious awareness here for the last two decades. Along with English and Hindi, he can also speak some Kannada words.
Satyaprakash says that coronavirus has played havoc with the lives of the people in the entire world. He says that apart from giving religious books to the people visiting car street, he also creates awareness among them about the need to wear mask. He says he wears the mask that resembles the face of Lord Hanuman.
