Kundapur, May 11: Corona-induced lockdown has been in force, following this purchase of essentials has been restricted for a few hours in the morning only. This has also led people to crowd shops just so that they can stock up.
Similarly, people in Kundapur gathered in droves at a fair price shop near the old bus stand on Tuesday, May 11. Long queues were formed as early as 6 am and the number of people gathered to buy the ration increased when the shop opened.
As the shop was understaffed there was difficulty in serving the needs of the people. The people were also seen ignoring the social distancing rule.
With a view to reducing the size of the crowd, food inspector Suresh Kumar who arrived at the shop began assisting the staff in selling ration to the customers. As he worked swiftly he helped in distributing the ration within 30 minutes. The prompt action of the food inspector has garnered appreciation from the customers.
