Mangaluru: MLA Kamath's supporters administered Covid vaccine on priority, alleges J R Lobo

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (EP)

Mangaluru, May 11: “There is a scarcity of Covaxin and Covishield vaccines which are being administered at the district Wenlock hospital. The people who have received the first dose have to be administered the second dose on priority within the stipulated period. But Mangaluru south MLA Vedavyasa Kamath is eluding the rule and interfering to vaccinate those he likes. It is unjust for those who have received the first shot. The interference should be stopped,” alleged former MLA J R Lobo.

Addressing media on Tuesday May 11, he said, “If the second dose is not administered within the time limit for those who have already received the first dose, the vaccination becomes futile. Only 350 doses of vaccine were received in the district on Monday. Those should have been administered for people who have already received their first dose. There is political interference for vaccinating supporters on priority instead.

“Instead of such interference, let the MLA show his capacity by getting vaccines for all. The Congress party will have to intervene to stop the interference.

“There is a huge contribution of Congress party MLAs and ministers in the growth of Wenlock hospital. Therefore, it has progressed as the hospital that caters to the needs of thousands of patients from four districts and two states. The statement by MLA Vedavyasa Kamath stating that there is no contribution of Congress in it shows his ignorance. Let him state what was his contribution after becoming the MLA. The district hospital has not received any contribution from him worth considering. The all-round development project, Rs 15 crore worth super-specialty block, 50 Bed AYUSH building and several other developments are the contribution of Congress. The blocks were renovated during the term of Congress party minister and MLA. The then MLA Yogish Bhat had taken some initiative but the current MLA was not involved. He has also not taken any interest in development even after becoming the MLA. We are willing to face his questions in this respect,” he said.

Corporation opposition leader Vinayraj and Congress office bearers Subhod Alva, Mohammed Kunjathbail, Prakash Salian, Vishwas Das, Sathish Shetty, T K Sudhir, Ashraf, Samshuddin, Ramananda, Yogish, Neeraj Pal and others were present.

If the current MLA is so popular he should have shown his guts in collecting the covid19 dead bodies thrown in the Ganga river before it stinks. Instead he has taken only bjp supporters for vaccination and they can also pretend to be Congress supporters for a propaganda. BJP leaders are fit for faking.

Suppose we also take up a challenge, then there will be street fights which the educated will never do like fake fights by the bjp's did in the caa protests, farmer's protests at red fort, and in West Bengal elections from the goondas appointed by bjp. Therefore let there be wisdom with out biased. So that all are vaccinated to get rid of covod19 for ever to prioritise everybody irrespective of party cadres.

Lobs comments make sense as per him 2nd dose should be completed after 21 days if you received 1st dose . if you delayed no use of administering dose. Modi govenment sold doses to other countries & celebrated in media that he already won the war against covid & went for rallies & kumbh melas .

Netas, should realise the grave danger, after the WHO has acknowledged, the most infectious Indian mutant B1617 unleashing waves of death in our society... Yes, the huge unprecedented fear has galvanized the public for vaccination... This fervor was absent in the intial period, as Opposition Netas, labled it as a BJP vaccine, Moreover many claimed that it would cause impotency !!! This false bravado to vilify the Union government was meticulously programmed, for scoring brownie points !!!!! Local administration must first vaccinate second dose, on a priority basis......

There is a view that vaccines that do not provide 100% protection can cause the virus to mutate( we do not know if it is true or not) by which it becomes stonger. The vaccine programme should have been started only after getting the adequate doses and a faster coverage method should have been used to cover a large population that is willing to get vaccinated in the shortest possible time without causing crowds e.g deploying vaccinators at polling centers ( usually schools) and involving family doctors.

Dear Mr.Lobo, Please stop playing politics at this point of time. Vaccination was started almost 4 months back, At that time no one, expect a few people bothered to get the vaccines. My mother managed to take her vaccine in Nandalike PHC. So don't say that vaccine did not reach people. Initially people were hesitant to get the vaccine thanks to politics played by many parties. Some parties started calling it Hindu vaccine/Modi vaccine etc. Instead of staying united everyone played politics like you are doing now. Show me one statement by any opposition leaders since January where they encouraged people to go and get vaccinated.
