Sullia, May 11: Diwakar Achary C H (52), a resident of Chatrappady house in Nalkur village in the taluk had illegally manufactured guns with the aim of selling the same. Based on the information collected, Sullia police circle inspector, Navinchandra Jogi and police sub-inspector Omana along with other staff, on Monday May 10, raided a shed located adjacent to his house which Achary uses for his work. They took into possession a gun found to be in the possession of Achary and a live cartridge. In this connection, a case was registered in Subrahmanya police station against Achary.
During the interrogation, the accused reportedly informed the police about having made such guns in the past and sold them to different persons. On the basis of information given by him, country made guns were seized from the possession of three other accused, Karthik Noochila, Ashok and Chandan. Cases were registered against the four accused.
Out of the above, Karthik (25) is a resident of Noochila House in Subrahmanya village, Ashok (35) is from Chidgal House, Nettana post, Bilinele, and Chandan (33) resides near colony church.
