Karnataka records 39,305 fresh coronavirus cases, 374 deaths in a day

Bengaluru, May 10: Karnataka on Monday, May 10 recorded another sharp rise in the number of coronavirus cases, adding 39,305 cases to its tally.

As per the bulletin released by the state health department, the active cases in the state rose to 5,71,006. Bengaluru Urban alone accounted for 16,747 cases in a single day.

As many as 596 deaths due to coronavirus were reported on Monday, with Bengaluru Urban recording 374 deaths and Ballari 26. With this, the toll so far has risen to 19,372.

The state recorded 32,188 discharges from hospitals, taking the total discharges so far to 13,83,285.

So far, Karnataka has seen 19,73,683 positive cases since the start of the pandemic in March 2020.

The positivity rate for the day stands at 31.66%, while the case fatality rate for the day is 1.51%.

As many as 1,06,08,539 people have received vaccination so far.
