Mangaluru, May 10: Mangaluru Smart City project is leading the other Smart City projects in the state. Its 'Integrated Command and Control Centre’ (ICCC) has now been transformed into Covid war room to support the district administration in managing coronavirus infection.
Covid war room telephone number is 1077. This centre also functions as digital-internet forum for different service initiatives. It also works as the integrated centre for multi-phase control measures, different spots, various departments and the government that has declared war against Covid19. This was stated by city corporation commissioner, Akshy Sridhar.
The Covid war room, in addition to striking communication and information coordination between different departments, will also work as the forum for collection and viewing of data. Through its disaster management and quick response department, it will manage Covid pandemic. Viewing of statistics and other information, pooling of the information and preparation of timely reports are some of the works which will be attended to by the ICC centre.
The doctors and health department experts, by using the Covid war room, be able to provide treatment and prescribe medicine through telemedicine. Telemedicine department will also be able to treat, check, and prescribe medicines for the people who have been quarantined in houses and elsewhere in the city, those who are undergoing self-quarantine, and Covid patients getting treated at home.
If Covid war room app is downloaded, available hospitals, ventilator, oxygen beds and their treatments, medicines, other information etc would be provided through smart phones. There is provision for the people to respond by using the app. A new app is under process for helping Covid infected people and Covid related issues from the Smart City ICC centre, Akshy Sridhar stated.
